Meet our Polish Chickens
Polish Chickens are easy identified by their long and fluffy plumage on their heads, these feathers can vary in colours but the physical appearance stays the same. These chickens are generally a calm and friendly breed of chicken but can be nervous if spooked.
Range
Polish chickens, known for their distinctive crests of feathers on their heads, trace their origins to Poland, though their exact history is somewhat unclear. These chickens were likely bred in the 16th century, and their striking appearance made them popular in Europe as ornamental birds. They were prized for their unique looks and were eventually brought to North America in the 1800s. Despite their beauty, Polish chickens are also known for being excellent layers of white eggs, though their crests can sometimes obstruct their vision, making them more delicate than other breeds.
