Meet Our Pigs

There are many different pig breeds, each having their own patterns, sizes and features unique to them. Pigs have been utilised over many years, with the first being in China around 8,000 years ago. Those pigs were then introduced to Europe during the 18th and early 19th century and have been considered to be direct ancestors to the pigs we have today .

Range

Pigs are found in many different places and have been kept in human care for many years.

Diet

Our pigs are well-fed with a balanced diet that includes grains, fruits, and vegetables. We ensure that they receive the nutrition they need to stay healthy and happy.

Lifespan

Pigs have an average lifespan of 10-15 years, depending on the breed and care they receive. At Greenacres Animal Park, we take great care of our pigs to ensure they live long and fulfilling lives.

Conservation Status

While domestic pigs are not considered endangered, wild pig species face threats due to habitat loss and hunting. We advocate for the protection of all pig species and promote conservation efforts.
