Meet Our Ponies
Ponies come in many different breeds, the ones we have at Greenacres Animal Park are a Miniature Horse and Shetland Pony. Pongo is a American Miniature Horse and his breed was selectively bred for their mini stature, these horses are generally used for riding purposes but more for their companionship with some even becoming therapy horses. Cookie is a Shetland pony, his breed originates from the Shetland Isles in Scotland and is Britain's smallest native breed of pony. They have a thick coat with double layers to withstand the harsh weather.
Pongo - American Miniature Horse
Pongo is our adorable American miniature pony, known for their sweet temperament and small size. They love interacting with visitors and are a favorite amongst children.
Range
Miniature horses can range from 30 to 38 inches in height at the withers.
