Meet Our Bagot Goats
This species of goat is a small breed and can be identified by its striking black and white coat markings, they also possess tall curved horns. They are believed to be Britain's oldest breed of goat and can be backed up by documentation with the first being recorded in 1389!
Range
Our Bagot Goats roam freely in the meadow paddock of Greenacres Animal Park, this mimics their natural habitat and allows natural behaviours.
Diet
Our Bagot Goats have a healthy diet consisting of grass, hay, and a specially formulated feed to keep them strong and energetic. We ensure they have access to fresh water at all times, we are able to do this due to our self refilling water station.
Lifespan
Bagot Goats have an average lifespan of 10-14 years when well cared for. At the park, we provide them with the best care to ensure they live a long and happy life.
Conservation status
Bagot Goats are classified as 'Vulnerable' by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust due to their declining numbers. We are proud to be part of conservation efforts to protect and preserve this precious breed.
