Meet our Emus
Emus can be found in Australia and belong to the Ratite family. This is a group of 12 bird species including Kiwi, Cassowary, Ostrich and Rhea. They are an endemic species meaning they are only found in one part of the world naturally.
Range
Emus are native to Australia and can be found in various habitats such as forests, savannas, and grasslands. They are known for their ability to adapt to different environments.
Diet
Emus are omnivores and feed on a variety of plants, insects, fruits, and seeds. They are known to swallow stones to help with digestion.
Lifespan
Emus have a lifespan of around 10-20 years in the wild. However, in captivity, they can live up to 35 years with proper care and environment.
Conservation Status
Emus are classified as a species of Least Concern on the IUCN Red List. However, they are protected by laws in Australia to ensure their survival.

- Emus are the second-largest bird in the world, after the Ostrich. They are known for their powerful legs and can sprint at speeds of up to 30 mph!
