Meet our Cameroon Sheep
Cameroon Sheep are often mistaken for a species of goat, they are actually a breed of African sheep and have an identifying long black stripe under their bodies. They are one of the oldest breeds of sheep that were domesticated by humans.
Range
Cameroon Sheep originate from West Africa, particularly from Cameroon, Nigeria, and Ghana. They are well-adapted to hot climates.
Diet
These sheep are primarily grazers, feeding on grass, herbs, and shrubs. They have a unique ability to thrive on minimal food and water.
Lifespan
The average lifespan of Cameroon Sheep is around 10-12 years when well cared for in captivity.
Conservation Status
Cameroon Sheep are classified as a rare breed by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust. Efforts are being made to conserve and protect this unique species.
